Recently, the online edition of World Journal Clout Index (WJCI) Report of Scientific and Technological Periodicals (2020) (hereinafter referred to as "WJCI Report") was released. Blasting ranked the 10th place in the subject of "engineering general technology", and it was the only Chinese journal selected in Q1 range of this subject.

WJCI Report is a journal evaluation report jointly developed by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, China Academic Journals (CD-ROM) Electronic Publishing Co., LTD., Tsinghua University Library, Wanfang Data Co., LTD., and Society of China University Journals. After strict evaluation, the report selected 14,287 kinds of scientific and technological journals from more than 63,000 kinds of active academic journals in the world, including 1426 kinds of Chinese scientific and technological journals, with an average WJCI index of 1.185.                                                          

The purpose of the WJCI report is to correct the "Four Sole Criteria" and the excessive place of SCI and EI in the evaluation of talents, so that higher quality scientific and technological papers can be written in the motherland. The report mainly innovates in four aspects: selection of the key magazine of China technology, evaluation index system, subject classification system and basic data system, so that to more comprehensively and objectively evaluate the publishing and communication services and academic influence of sci-tech journals on global sci-tech innovation activities in today's society.

This report also aims to objectively reflect the real contributions of emerging scientific and technological powers represented by China, provide more objective statistical methods and comprehensive ranking for the academic influence of world academic journals, and promote fair evaluation and equivalent use of the world scientific and technological journals.
