In March 2021, Blasting was officially notified by the editorial board of Chinese core periodicals of Peking University Library that this journal was selected in the 2020 edition (i.e. the 9th edition) of Chinese core periodicals catalogue (mining engineering). This is the fifth consecutive time Blasting has been selected as a Chinese core journal.

The Chinese core journals are a combination of Peking University Library and many academic experts. Through the combination of quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods, the quantitative evaluation indicators of 13764 Chinese journals are counted and analyzed, and finally 1990 core journals are selected, which belong to 74 subject categories. Quantitative evaluation index system adopts 16 evaluation indicators including picking quantity, picking rate, total citations, other citations, impact factor, other citation impact factor, 5-year impact factor, 5-year other citation impact factor, characteristic factor, article influence score, paper citation index, coupling citation index, awards or being included in important retrieval system, fund paper ratio (national, provincial and ministerial level), Web downloads, Web download rate. The evaluation results have been widely recognized by the academic community. Chinese core periodicals catalogue is one of the most authoritative evaluation systems among the similar division.

This news is the result that the supervisor unit and the host unit insist on the strategy of improving the quality of the journal and creating high-quality journals.
